Moclips Beach Trip

This year's summer vacation in the US started with a trip to the beautiful Washington Coast. We rented a house on beautiful Moclips beach with Grandma Kathy, Aunt Sam and Uncle Lucas and Great Grandma ("G-G") Charlotte. As you can see, the ocean views were wonderful. But even better, was an opportunity to spend time with family! This was Jackson's first trip to the ocean. And his first experience with real sand (that is...sand outside of the sandbox). He was digging it! Get it...digging it AND digging it :)The first few days were pretty typical Washington Coast weather. But we bundled up and went down to the beach anyway. If Seattleites stayed inside every time the weather was gray and cold, they'd miss a lot of good times.Jackson enjoyed exploring the dunes with Dad.And playing in the sand with Grandma Kathy. They REALLY got into it!We ventured...ever so slightly...into the water. It was FREEZING!Jackson thought it was pretty neat...but he did have a hard time staying on his feet as he sunk into the sand.A few days in, we were blessed with beautiful blue skies. Yes, that's right, beautiful blue skies on the Washington Coast. So, Jackson got his summer gear on.He's so cool... We settled in at the beach. And enjoyed soaking up a little sun.The water was a little more tolerable on such a lovely day.Actually...a lot more tolerable. Cisco and I even managed to go all the way in - VERY quickly. Really, we went in the ocean knowing that we could run back to the house and jump in the hot tub :) When we weren't enjoying the beach, there were plenty of good times at the house. We even had a couple of visits from family members. Cisco got to catch up with a couple of his cousins. (We also had a great visit with Aunt Marcia and Uncle Frank...but unfortunately didn't get any pics!)And one thing that I always love about being at the ocean is the incredible sunsets. BEAUTIFUL!
