People have told us from the beginning how fast the time goes when you have a little one. Still...we weren't expecting it to go as fast as it has. Jackson is 6 months old now and passing mile stone after mile stone. He has 2 teeth (which you can see if you click and enlarge this photo). And while you've got the photo enlarged, check out those eyelashes...wow!Things he couldn't do even a few weeks ago, he is mastering now. For one, his Jolly Jumper skills are solid.
And this is one strong little man. He is active at practically every waking moment. He loves playing in his play area. He and his daddy have very fun times together there. They play this game where they lay down and Cisco throws the soccer ball up in the air and catches it.Jackson thinks it's amazing. His dad is probably the coolest guy in the world.Cisco's trying to work on the soccer interest early.I think it's working. One of Jackson's favorite things to do is pull out all his books. And "read" them.Another favorite activity...licking stuff.Which also goes well with the books. And his most favorite activity of late is standing up. He surprised us a few weeks ago as we watched him use his exer-saucer to stand up on his own. We were not prepared for this at 6 months! He's so proud of himself, and now he just can't stand enough. He's so good at it, he thinks he'll try it without holding on.And he thinks maybe he'll try climbing next. The cushy flooring has been great...considering all the falling he does.
Ready?I'm Up!Uh-Oh!I'm Down. But, don't worry...I'm right back up again! He's still pretty unstable as you will see in this video. But, the falling doesn't seem to bother him. He just pops right back up!
Jackson also started solid foods this month...well...at least we're working on it. He's not been a big fan of anything so far except the spoon. Here's a video of his very first food taste - banana. As you'll see, the reviews were mixed.
The only food he seemed to like alright was brown rice. And I think he mostly liked it because I made it thin enough that he could drink it.We'll keep trying...and if he's anything like his mom and dad, we know he'll love food eventually :) Maybe we should make everything drinkable.
